Quicken – An unknown error has occurred. Please try to connect later.

Problem:

I just installed Quicken 2015 or Quicken 2016, and I get the error message “An unknown error has occurred.  Please try to connect later.”

How do I get past this error and register Quicken?

• Internet is fine.
• Password is correct – I can log into the Inuit website just fine.
• Password has been changed to a complex password as required by the website.

Solution:

Download and install the latest Mondo patch update.  You can’t update through Quicken itself since it won’t let you in.  Get it from the website.
