Erratic High CPU Load Caused by Overheating – Blow Out the Dust

Symptom:
Computer is slow
Task manager shows erratic CPU load from 40% to 99% when no programs are open.
Task manager does not reflect the high cpu load in the running processes under the processes tab – they are basically idle and don’t add up to the 90% that is used.

Solution:
Blow out the dust. The CPU is overheated. After the cloud of dust cleared, the CPU was running at 4% as it should be.
