Dell Server NIC Team Conflicts with Polycom IP Phones

Dell’s Poweredge servers come with dual Broadcom network cards.  It only makes sense that someone might used the included NIC software to set up Teaming.  However, as soon as you do this all of the Polycom IP phones on your network will start complaining about duplicate IP addresses.

There are two possible work-arounds.

1 – Don’t use NIC Teaming on your server.

2 – Set a static IP on each of your Polycom phones.  Although sometimes this still doesn’t work.
