How To Force Windows 7 To Create A New Domain Profile

Problem:

Your Windows profile is corrupt.  You rename it and reboot so Windows will create a new one but it just creates a temporary profile instead.

Solution:

1. Rename the user’s profile folder to something like xuser

2. Open regedit and make sure that the user is no longer in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionProfileList. Delete it if present, even if it is followed by “.bak”.

3. Reboot and log in as the user and it will create a new profile folder.
