AT&T SBCGlobal DNSBL Removal
Problem:
AT&T / SBCglobal / Pacbell is blacklisting my email server. All emails sent to an address ending in sbcglobal.net or pacbell.net result in this bounce message:
553 5.3.0 nlpi008,DNSBL:To request removal of, 64.151.96.245, send the complete error message in an E-mail to removeme@sbc.sbcglobal.net
Solution:
After hours of searching, I found this URL
http://helpme.att.net/servabuse.php
I filled out the form and submitted it. I got a reply an hour later:

Thank you for contacting AT&T Internet Abuse.
This is a general email error message. If this IP was blocked by our
RBL you would receive an error message directing you to contact
removeme@sbc.sbcglobal.net. We do not support or troubleshoot general
email issues at this address.

I had already called the DSL number and spent an hour talking to a nice gentleman who searched high and low for someone who could help me. He refused to transfer me anywhere because I was not a customer.
I was given hope by the fact that I received a response that was probably written by a person and that this person had actually heard of RBL. The guy on the phone had no clue.
I returned to http://helpme.att.net/servabuse.php and sent another message.

Is there a real person on the other end of removeme@sbc.sbcglobal.net ?
What is the procedure? Will I ever receive a response? Is there a number I can call? Is there a place I can go? Is there a magic spell I can cast? Is there a dance I can do?
What does it take to get 64.151.96.245 removed from your RBL? What does it take? Seriously. What?
All I’m looking for is a web form that I can fill out that will start the process. Where is it?
Soon I receive another response:
Thank you for contacting AT&T Internet Abuse.
Yes, and we are the same group.
The reported IP address is currently whitelisted on our RBL.
Please try resending your message. If you still have problems, please reply to this message with the current delivery error so we can further investigate your complaint.
Thank you,
The AT&T Internet Abuse Department

So the first responder told me to send another email to that long dead address and the second responder FIXED THE PROBLEM.
Summary:
Send your emails to abuse@sbcglobal.net and pray that the person who gets it knows how to help you. If not, keep trying.
